Odeda Benin-Goren

Odeda Benin-Goren, founder and CEO of ODRON (Emergency and Disaster Preparedness and Management), is a Registered Nurse (RN), certified in Emergency Nursing (CEN), with a PhD. She is a volunteer at the United Nations Disaster Assessment and Coordination (UNDAC) under the UN Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). In this capacity, Odeda has taken part in many global UN missions following disasters.

Odeda is also a consultant to the General Medical Division at the Israeli Ministry of Health and to the Department of International Cooperation (MASHAV) at the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In these roles, Odeda has led and been involved in international projects related to emergency medicine, trauma, intensive care, emergency nursing and management, and disaster preparedness. Additionally, Odeda is a WHO consultant for Health Systems Preparedness for Mass Events.

Between 2016-2019, Odeda served as the Academic Coordinator for the Emergency Management Course at Center for Emergency Response Research (PREPARED) at Ben Gurion University (BGU) in Israel. Odeda has significant experience as a disaster trainer and facilitator and collaborating with international organizations such as Prepared International (PPI) on a needs assessment and mass casualty drill exercise Curacao.

From 2019-2023, Odeda volunteered as the Chair of the Nursing Special Interest Group (SIG) for the World Association for Disaster and Emergency Medicine (WADEM).
