Romeo Fairley

Dr. Romeo Fairley is a board-certified emergency medicine physician employed as an associate professor at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. He completed medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. After completing an Emergency Medicine residency program in Austin, Texas, he moved to Orange County, California, for a Disaster Medicine fellowship at the University of California-Irvine. He also has a Master’s in Public Health focusing on Public Health Administration from the University of South Florida.

Currently, he is the chair of the Disaster Medicine Committee for the American College of Emergency Physicians and is on the editorial board of Prehospital and Disaster Medicine. Additionally, he serves as an associate editor for the Koenig and Schultz Disaster Medicine 3rd ed. textbook. Dr. Fairley has been a deployed medical team asset on several disaster responses. His research interests include provider and patient mental health as well as simulation. As a young representative, Dr. Fairley hopes to learn from the experience of the WADEM Board of Directors and to utilize his own experiences with scholarship, administration, and education to benefit the WADEM community.
