Heejun Shin

Dr. Heejun Shin is a Korean board-certified emergency medicine specialist physician and fellowship-trained expert in Disaster Medicine, currently serving as an Associate Professor in Emergency Medicine and Director of the SCH Disaster Medicine Center at Soonchunhyang University Bucheon Hospital, South Korea. He completed his Disaster Medicine Fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, where he also served as a Research Fellow. Dr. Shin is a faculty member of the Korean Disaster Life Support (KDLS) program at the National Emergency Medical Center under the Ministry of Health and Welfare of South Korea.

Dr. Shin is internationally recognized for pioneering disaster medicine education in the Asia-Pacific region. He authored the definitive Korean textbook “Counter-Terrorism Medicine (대테러의학),” and has developed innovative scenario-based training programs including CIREcourse-Tactical, enhancing global preparedness in tactical counter-terrorism and CBRNe response. As an International Member and Outreach Coordinator Officer for the Tactical and Law Enforcement Medicine (TALEM) Section of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) and Fellow of The International Board of Disaster Medicine (IBODM), he actively collaborates internationally to advance disaster medicine research and practice.
