Improving global prehospital and emergency medicine, public health, and disaster health care and preparedness

Environmental Sustainibility

The congress bags distributed to participants will be made from products certified with the Eco Mark.

Eco Mark-certified products are recognized as environmentally friendly throughout their entire life cycle—from production to disposal—due to their low environmental impact and contribution to environmental conservation. By using such certified products, we aim to demonstrate to overseas participants—many of whom have a strong awareness of sustainability—that the host country is taking thoughtful and proactive measures toward environmental responsibility.

Although Eco Mark-certified bags have also been distributed at past conferences, providing them again under this application will allow us to further promote the host city’s commitment to SDGs and environmental consciousness, especially to international participants who place a high value on sustainability. As with past conferences, efforts such as reducing the use of plastic bottles were also made by encouraging participants to use their own tumblers and refill them with water from dispensers during the conference period.

Seminar for Local Residents

  1. Raising Environmental and Sustainability Awareness
  2. Collaboration and Co-Creation with the Local Community
  3. Concrete Contribution to the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals)
  4. Enhancing Environmental Awareness and International Recognition of the Host City

We believe that a public seminar serves as an important platform for sharing academic expertise with society, enhancing individual environmental awareness, and fostering a sustainable future for the entire community. Accordingly, on Monday, 5 May (national holiday), a public seminar will be held featuring the following lectures:

  • There’s No Job as Fascinating as This – Primary Care in the United States
  • From Cambodia to the World – Newborn Support by the NPO Aozora and Elecom

Two physicians who provide medical care on the global stage—both in routine and emergency situations—will be invited to share their experiences, offering participants an opportunity to learn about the realities of medical practice around the world. This seminar is intended not only for those interested in disaster and international medicine, but also for students exploring their future paths and families who wish to reflect together on global health care and the meaning of “well-being.”
